Welcome to my floral world!

I’m Yuri, a passionate flower designer originally from Tokyo, now rooted in Chicago.

My journey with flowers began while working for a Dutch company, where my curiosity about Japanese culture and traditions led me to explore Ikebana, inspired by my mom who also practiced the art. Her love for flowers naturally bloomed into mine.

As my passion deepened, I immersed myself in Western floral design, mastering techniques such as bouquet making and wreath crafting. These experiences shaped my unique approach — blending Japanese sensitivity with Western creativity.

Eventually, my love for flowers blossomed into my own small business, De Bloemen, named after the Dutch word for flowers. It’s a tribute to where my floral journey began, and a reflection of the beauty, emotion, and artistry I hope to share through every creation.
